The Artist’s Garden: An introduction to cultivating your garden as both material source and creative muse.
In this exploratory class, Jen Anderson, of Jen Anderson Studio & Garden, invites you into the world of the Artist’s Garden; a space where plants become partners in the creative process. Drawing from her own creative process, pigment and flower gardens, flower-pressing practice, and experience as a garden consultant, Jen will share how the garden can inspire, inform, and supply your art.
Together, we’ll look at how to choose plants for natural pigments, pressing, and seasonal artistic inspiration. While this class offers an overview of working with natural materials, it is not a technical workshop; instead, you’ll gain a clear understanding of what’s possible and which plants support each artistic pathway. (Deeper hands-on processes will be offered in separate classes.)
You’ll also receive guidance and resources to begin planning your own Artist’s Garden and leave with necessary information to create one that aligns with your medium, your aesthetics, the land you tend and the art you are longing to create.
Perfect for artists, gardeners, and nature-lovers ready to cultivate a creative relationship with the living world.
