Our next project

We dreamed up a whimsical play space where laughter blends with birdsong and butterflies. And for a dash of extra magic, why not shape it after the most charming wetland resident—the wood duck?

Wood ducks aren’t exactly nature’s janitors, but they’re like the quirky health inspectors of the wetlands! If something’s wrong with the water—like too much pollution or nutrients—these feathered friends will let us know. Their favorite hangouts, lush wetlands, are magical places that filter water, soak up extra nutrients, and trap pesky sediments, keeping things fresh for everyone. Plus, wood ducks are little movers and shakers, spreading seeds and tiny critters as they waddle from pond to pond. By looking after wood ducks, we’re also giving wetlands some TLC—and that means cleaner, happier water for all!

Just as important, ADA-compliant and quiet play spaces open the door for every child to join in the fun. By removing physical and sensory barriers, these spaces help all kids connect, build friendships, and grow together—no one’s left out. They’re little havens for boosting confidence, sparking creativity, and finding calm, so everyone can play, recharge, and shine. When play is welcoming for all, magic happens!

This project is made possible with the support RCWD and the city of New Brighton.
