Sumac Branch Weaving

  • Treehaus Studio 1017 N Cascade Street Osceola United States (map)

This introductory class on experimental weaving transforms ordinary sumac branches into looms. Participants will learn fundamental weaving techniques using up-cycled materials and found objects. Students are encouraged to bring used items such as old clothing, blankets, rugs, shoelaces, or even plastic bags. These materials will be cut into strips to serve as the weft in our experimental weaving projects. While the workshop is designed for beginners, it is open to all skill levels, providing a great opportunity for advanced weavers to share their knowledge or take on new challenges.
